Produce sustainably – We believe that it is our responsibility to mitigate the environmental impacts of our operations, as such environmental management and compliance is an important part of our business. We use sustainable materials as much as possible and onsite, we ensure that our equipment and maintenance services operate with as minimum impact to the environment.
Market strategically – We have an internal network in key locations across South East Asia and have established strong partnerships with reputable dealers. This allow us to support our clients across the globe promptly and effectively, even those who require specific requirements.

MR. YONG YOOK SENG
A determined self-starter, Yong Yook Seng founded Bristol armed with an instinct for business and talent for making/creating things. After qualifying as an Electrical Engineer, Yong Yook Seng began his career at the Singapore Air Force as an aircraft engineer. Before long, it became apparent that he wasn’t cut out for life as an employee. His early forays into business selling white boards and supplying wooden boxes went well before he had a successful run trading chair components manufactured in Europe to Malaysian companies. Despite this, Yong quickly realised that just supplying goods was not a sustainable business model in the long run, so he decided to design and manufacture his own product – this led to the founding of Bristol where he could manufacture office chairs of his own design.
Through the years, Yong has grown the company and built a reputation by being ahead of the curve via innovative technology and good design. Because of his foresight, Bristol’s strategic focused production location means that orders can be managed efficiently and customisation is easily achievable. As a result of the strong fundamentals Yong put into place, Bristol continues to grow from strength to strength with Yong in its driver’s seat.

History over the years
Bristol was established in 1983 and since then, it has grown from trading in office chair components to becoming a company adept at both designing and manufacturing quality office furniture. Widely recognised as one of Asia’s leading office furniture manufacturers, Bristol’s continued commitment to the importance of the design values and purpose in its furniture has allowed it to expand across six countries in Asia with a view towards establishing more markets in the near future.

Whether it is about the making of a product, managing a process, delivering a service or supplying materials – Bristol is committed to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for organizational performance and excellence; ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management and ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management. Bristol furniture products are certified to the most transparent indoor air quality (IAQ) standard for furniture and building materials. The SCS Indoor Advantage and Indoor Advantage Gold standard aligns ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 and X7.1, and CA 01350. It qualifies for many building rating systems, including LEED v4, BREEAM, and WELL Building.

OUR MILESTONES
Started as Lee Yong Trading importing chair components from Europe.
The founder, Mr Yong Yook Seng realized the untapped potential of comfortable and ergonomically designed office chair and established Bristol. Bristol became the first Malaysian company to utilize meranti plywood shell technology in South East Asia with its range of seating called Genre 1.
Total in-house developed Anatom chair was launched with an R & D investment of half a million ringgit.
The office seating range increased by two new additions - Impaq and Bella.
The launching of Com-Con R 2.2 was met with raving reviews by designers.
In Orgatec 2000 saw the introduction of thin panel of ComCon R3.1 and the Sunflower System.
Bristol rebranded. COMO - new addition of the office seating and waiting & reception seating.
Won the Malaysian Award for Creativity & Innovation 2004 presented by Malaysia Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Introduction of Kleiber chairs, a highly flexible and light weight multi purpose chair.
Launching of COMO Desking, a new age of sophisticated office furniture design. COMO Desking became well recognised among the interior designers and clients due to its stylish and contemporary design.
Introduction of Fadz Table System featuring sophisticated legs system for conference table and executive desking. At the same time, Team chair for executive seating was launched.
Introduction of Loft sofa range. Loft sofa won the first prize in sofa category MIFF 2008. COMO desking won the first prize in office furniture category MIFF 2008.
Introduction of Soul chair, O series executive system and Artiv system. O series won the MIFF 2009 Furniture Excellence Award.
Introduction of Kanye and Swift. Besides, Bristol won the Asian Furniture Leadership Awards 2010 and Malaysian Furniture Leadership Awards 2010.
Introduction of Lemoinex, System 288 and Kleiber Flex. Achieved Global Environmental Standard ISO 14024.
Introduction of Presa, Como Talk and Keep Storages.
Bristol launches extensive Collection 2013 which consists of Kaya, Saya, Zaza, Como Lounge, Kanye, Klug, Extenit and Vertigo.
